JuL.IA – 2nd International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence in JUrisdictional Logistics

JuL.IA - ICAIL 2021.  ==> June 21th 2021 (on line event)     "CALL FOR PAPERS - 10 MAY 2021"

  • Background: The Workshop aims to explore characteristics in the use of artificial intelligence solutions in Law, especially the decision-making tools, classification, clustering and recommendation systems, data mining, information processing applied or their theoretical impacts on Law and Human Rights. This Workshop intends to reach communities worldwide, to present or discuss on-going research on the main following topics, but not limited to, both from a theoretical or practical point of view. It will be relevant to establish legal theoretical contexts or practical point of view and to observe the structural elements of legal certainty, especially knowability, reliability and calculability regarding the concretization and application of the legal standard, particularly in the management flows of judicial proceedings that we call jurisdictional logistics.
  • Objective: This Workshop was designed for a space for presentation and debate on practical applications and reflexes in the theory of Law through the use and development of artificial intelligence in Law. One of the most current and relevant Law's discussions is in the application of artificial intelligence systems to make administrative flows in the management of judicial processes faster and more accurate, improving the use of human resources and allowing a more effective judicial service.
  • Topics: Some artificial intelligence applications, including machine learning, are supporting discussions in the scope of Law:

    1) decision-making tools;

    2) classification;

    3) clusterization;

    4) recommendation systems;

    5) data mining;

    6) processing of applied information or its theoretical impacts on Law and Human Rights.

  • Language can be Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or English.
  • Submission: References for papers - original papers:

a) Drafts:  4-10 pages,

b) Final papers: 8-10 pages

The submission language can be Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or English. In any case, a submission must also be supplemented with an extended English abstract. In case of acceptance, both the paper and the extended English abstract will be included in the workshop materials. The presentation can be given in the chosen language but presentation materials, in particular slides, have to be available in English in order to allow the English speaking community to get a good understanding of the research results. Preprepared audios and videos in English are also helpful. Conference system Easychair.

The proceedings will be published in a volume of the CEURS.

Authors shall submit their papers electronically via EasyChair before the due date in PDF format.
